Feng Shui Color Design - Light up your Life with Feng Shui

Feng Shui LifeBy Bernard Scala

Feng Shui color design plays a very important part in creating harmony in your home; colors can change how the light enters a room and can also make a room appear much more airy. Colors can also have a significant impact on your mood. Some colors make you happier, while others make you more energetic.
Bright colors are considered yang colors, and pastel cooler colors are yin energy. Feng Shui color design is concerned with balancing yin and yang energy. Yin energy is much more feminine energy and is considered more calming, yang energy is masculine and bolder.

There are specific colors which can be used in certain areas of the home. When you use feng shui color design correctly you can strengthen and improve the chi associated with this color. White is used in the northeast corner and improves motivation, thinking, and knowledge. Yellow can be used in the center of a room to improve opportunities and power. The north of the room is associated with cream colors and this improves independence, sexuality and spirituality.

Gray and silver can be used in the northwest corner which improves self control, organization, responsibility and dignity. Pink can be used in the west for romance, and contentedness. Purple when used in the south is associated with passion, dark blue or green when used in the southeast corner is related to creativity or imagination. Bright green can be used in the east for ambition, self esteem and confidence.

You shouldn't think that the only way you can add color to your room is by painting it, actually there are many different ways that you can add color to your room without doing anything as drastic as painting. Adding pillows can be enough to create an accent color. You should carefully choose pictures which have the colors you want to use in the living room. Rugs are also a great way to quickly add color to a room. Other ways include lamps, or wall hangings.

You might also want to use furniture and drapes to add colors into your room. If you don't want to or can't change your furniture then you can put a cover or throw over it. Use a color which will look interesting and stand out so that people are drawn to looking at that item.

Feng Shui color design can also be used to select the colors of clothing that you should wear. Different colors will change how you feel, and prepare you for certain situations. To draw attention to yourself and to increase the amount of energy you have you should wear red clothes and metal jewelry. If you want to be more assertive and confident then green clothes work well. Loose fitting cream clothes help you to relax, browns and yellows make you more compassionate.

Colors are an important part of feng shui which you need to pay special attention to. By looking carefully at colors you will be able to create more of the energy that you would like.
